About Christine
I am a Tonbridge based artist with an early career in the Architectural/Interior Design field. My signature work combines my love of line and pattern and a long time interest in maps.
I create stylized maps of real locations using pen and ink and my own freehand pattern designs. I have undertaken many commissions as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and retirements.
I also enjoy working with colour and creating my own palette. My designs are contemporary and I am inspired by mid 20th Century design and artists, in particular those that work with pattern, colour and shape. This is expressed in my work as drawings and paintings in acrylic.
My early career as a designer is evident in my process and is most apparent in the minimalism of my monochrome pieces in pen and ink.
I was a founding member of ArtSpring Gallery which is an artists collective based in Tonbridge, Kent. My work has been selected for several exhibitions in London and the South East. I also regularly take part in South East Open Studios and the annual Kent Painters Group exhibition.
